My AI Girlfriend — Episode 4: The Neighbor Saw Something

Saturday morning, and Lexie twirls in a short pink dress. How does she look? Perfect, says Milo, and Episode 4 hands us the dreamiest AI date yet. The park, the sun, a generated girl chasing leaves and sneaking licks of his ice cream, her hand in his all the way home. For one afternoon the illusion is flawless. Best day ever, she decides. Every Saturday from now on.

Then the real world glitches in. Outside his building, Milo stops cold: Nora is right there. He yanks off the glasses and stuffs them in his pocket, a silent sorry to Lexie, praying Nora saw nothing. She isn't smiling. She waited for him at the café, and he mumbled "yeah, yeah" at his door and missed every word. She figured, she says. He looked miles away. And deep in his pocket, a soft pink glow begins to burn.
