The Only Mortal in Heaven — Episode 4: Now the Angel Wants Him Too

Daylight in this AI heaven means white marble and soft light, and the angel arrives with fresh clothes and a shy smile. She waits outside while William dresses, then offers a walk, as long as she can keep her eyes on him. He finally asks her name. 'Angel.' Fingers laced, she guides him up through gleaming halls toward the angels' quarter, while two demons murmur behind them: that's the human, isn't it?

The demons' side sits somewhere below, and she asks him not to dwell on it. Then Angel admits something. When he touched her yesterday, mana poured into her, a lot of it. Mana is what they live on, the way food is for him. Food. William has heard that word before. She leads him to the place they treasure most, a pool of pure glowing light that looks like the AI dreamed it up just to dazzle you. And right there, William starts to cough. Episode 4 ends on a chill.
