The Only Mortal in Heaven — Episode 5: Even Angels Get Hungry

Blood on his lips, and nobody in heaven can tell William why. In Episode 5, Angel sits him beside a fountain. 'Stay here. I'll find something that helps. I'll be quick.' But odd sounds drift through the marble corridors, and he cannot keep still. He traces them to a door left half open and peeks in at something only an AI micro drama would dare to render: angels entwined, eyes shining blue, a bright current flowing from one body to the next.

So that is how angels live. Angel catches him there, cheeks flushed. 'I told you to wait.' She tugs him away, clearly not ready for him to learn this so soon. William now has exactly one question, and he will not drop it: does she do that too? She will answer, just not in that hallway. 'I'll tell you, but not here. Come on.' Taking his hand, she leads him outside into the garden.
