The Only Mortal in Heaven — Episode 8: Both at Once

Earth, a life of her own, no more hunger: Asmodea craved that long before she ever craved William. 'So you do want me.' 'You're a nice bonus.' Episode 8 brings the ritual, and it only works with both guardians, so the angel and the demoness lay their palms on his chest. Angel speaks the words: by the light she was made from and the fire Asmodea was born in, let his heart remember how to beat. Light flares under their hands. Then nothing.

'I told you, words aren't enough,' Asmodea says. One spell alone cannot unleash their power. So she climbs into William's lap and starts peeling away her leather. 'Asmodea! What are you doing?' 'Watch and learn.' Her eyes ignite red, a glow the AI renders like embers, and she turns to Angel. 'You still don't see why I'm doing this? Join us.' Heaven's strangest ceremony is about to get very hands-on.
