The Only Mortal in Heaven — Episode 7: A Way Back

In Episode 7 the golden-crowned archangel calls Angel away on urgent business, leaving William alone at a tall window while every demon in the hall fixes their stare on the human. Asmodea saunters over in black leather. Look who is out of bed. Tonight is still on, sweet thing, so he had better not make her come hunting. She leans close, breathes in, and catches a scent she did not expect: feathers. The smile slides right off her face.

Angel returns with golden marks glinting on her legs and huge news. The archangel dug up old chronicles, and they describe a way to send William back to Earth. 'Back? I'm dead.' There is a ritual, and she will explain it in the ward. 'In the ward? Oh, I wouldn't miss it,' Asmodea purrs. Beside his bed, Angel reveals the twist. William can return alive, but both of his guardians will have to pay a price.
